Born
in Chicago, Illinois, Elaine Fox has spent her entire life
in the Land of Lincoln. She earned a bachelor's degree from
the University of Illinois and graduated as a member of the
Phi Beta Kappa society. Since graduating from college, Fox
has had a remarkable career working in the corporate world.
Her resume includes experience in employee relations and corporate
affairs at All-State Insurance Company, as well as public
relations and marketing experience with Playboy Enterprises.
Yet, despite her these opportunities, Fox left it all behind
to be a stay-at-home mom. After five years of suffering from
infertility and three surgeries to conceive her first child,
she is pursuing a new profession -motherhood.
With the responsibilities of motherhood and marriage, Fox
discovered how moms can stay active outside the home. She
believes women can maintain their passions while changing
diapers and accomplishing the day-to-day chores around the
house. Fox believes that being a mom does not mean losing
your identity as a woman-having friends and spending time
doing what you love is important in maintaining personal sanity
and a healthy marriage.
In her first novel, No One Should Get Pregnant Alone,
Fox delivers a fictional, yet semi-autobiographical account
of her struggle with infertility and a deep desire to be a
mom. Fox's character, Emily Vance, seems to have it all-a
loving husband, friends and family. But, the baby she desperately
wants seems out of her reach. Her novel offers an honest and
humorous interpretation of the infertility experience and
affirms the bittersweet beauty of family.
Currently, Elaine Fox resides in Gurnee, Illinois, with
her husband and three children. Fox appreciates family and
devotes herself to being a loving, committed wife and nurturing
mother. She is actively involved in her local PTA and has
been a classroom mother for the past ten years. Fox also enjoys
cooking, reading, and traveling and is active in the local
community charities.
